Hiatus

You've probably noticed that I haven't posted in a while. That's because I'm doing most of my posting on my other blog, the Evil Empire Chronicles. So for the 10 people who actually read this thing, you can get your fix there. I'll let you know if I post anything over here over there.

Gator Bait

I can get used to this being right stuff.

When everyone around at my job was picking UCLA, I'd ask why. I'd rarely get an intelligent reason. It was always because "I hate Florida" or "Because I loved the O'Bannon brothers." Garbage like that.

Oh well. It was nice seeing someone aside from the usual suspects win the whole thing. Gator fans will definitely appreciate this because the ones I know, never expected they'd ever win a basketball title.

Let me go record now and say that with a little more seasoning, Noah can become a more athletic version of Kevin McHale with better defensive skills. I really hope this kid comes back to school, because with a little more experience, he can become a real franchise guy.

And that way, the Knicks can pick him up in 2008, since we don't have a 2007 pick thanks to the Eddie Curry trade. Thanks Isiah. Thanks a lot.

Caffeine Anyone?

The NCAA's at 9ish. The Yankees at 10:05.

Anyone who has stock in Mountain Dew should hold on to it.

If this was a Friday night, I'd be in heaven. But it's a Monday. Three days before I go on vacation. The last thing I want to do is do something where my vacation would be permanent.

But the hell with it. Baseball's back.

I must have been watching three or four games from my office today. Cheering that Miguel Tejada (one of my fantasy shortstops) smashed a home run off of Scott Kazmir. Until I realized that Scott was on one of my other teams.

Somehow, I'm thinking that three fantasy teams (five if you count my two strato-leagues) are a little too much.

Here's to baseball.

Cinderella Gets Pummeled And Develops Battered Baller's Syndrome

Talk about leaving no doubt...

These two games were the equivalent of boyfriend/spouse who finally has enough of his woman browbeating him and finally snaps...He takes her out back and just gives her the whupping of a lifetime...with all of her friends watching because they're afraid that if they try to break it up...they'll get beat too.

Not that I condone or endorse that sort of thing. Just making an observation.

At least I know who I'm rooting for. My love for USC prevents me from rooting for UCLA in well, anything....so going for Florida was an easy choice even if I didn't 1)Like Florida Football 2)Was a fan of Yannick Noah 3)Joa'chim Noah went to Poly Prep, a Brooklyn private school in the same conference as my high school alma mater (I wrestled against their guys several times)and 4)Billy Donovan is a Long Island guy.

It's pretty funny since that these two teams are in the final game. Both coaches have Big East roots (Howland coached at Pitt, Donovan played at Providence) and have been an easy targets for the pundits. Howland was awful in his first couple of years at UCLA and many wondered why he left Pitt in the first place and Billy's team have underacheived since making the Finals in 1999. Now one of them will get a very large primate off their back.

Here's hoping it's Billy.....
